Pera di Fassa: with the Vajolet 1, Vajolet 2 and Pian Pecei chairlifts and start the walk along the "path of the legends" until Gardeccia (45 minutes),
or
Vigo di Fassa: with the Catinaccio cable car and then on foot along path no. 540 until Gardeccia (45 minutes).
Both routes are similar. The only difference is that the Catinaccio cable car opens earlier in the morning, closes later in the evening, and runs continuously.
Car parking is always available in both locations.
From Gardeccia, continue walking on a comfortable gravel road - path no. no. 546 - up to the Vajolet refuge (2243 m) - 1 hour.
From the Vajolet refuge, take path no. 542 to Re Alberto 1° refuge (2621m - 1 hour) which climbs up a mixed path of rocks and gravel. The more demanding passages are supported by a convenient iron rope which allows both adults and children to hike safely.
These are not particularly exposed passages, so via ferrata equipment is not required and even children can climb if accompanied by experienced adults.
Dogs of all breeds can climb if they are young and agile.
ATTENTION! Remember that path no. 542 is the only way to descend from the Re Alberto 1° refuge. If during the ascent you think getting down could be a problem, consider giving up and going back!
